Fried Tilapia

Fried tilapia is a delicious fish dish to prepare and make. It is a great alternative to other popular fish in the fish market. This seafood dish is tasty and makes a great main dish meal. 

Fried tilapia is tilapia coated in flour and seasoned, then fried in oil. For the tilapia, either fresh or frozen tilapia will work for this recipe. 

Ingredients Details

Tilapia: frozen boneless fillets of tilapia; alternative fresh tilapia fillets  
Egg: white eggs or brown eggs
Flour: all-purpose flour
Garlic seasoning: garlic powder; alternative garlic salt
Onion seasoning: onion powder; alternative onion salt
Salt: plain salt
Pepper: ground black pepper
Frying oil: corn oil; alternative canola oil or vegetable oil
Lemon: fresh lemon

Instructions

  • 4 tilapias
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

Egg mixture. Beat 1 egg in a bowl, then, in a separate dish, add the egg mixture. 

Flour. In a separate dish, add the flour, then add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. 

Coat: first coat each tilapia in the egg mixture, then in the flour. 

Frying. Fry the tilapia in corn oil until golden brown. 

Lemon. Cut the lemon into wedges. Squeeze lemon into the tilapia for added flavor.
